A new report has revealed that tuberculosis (TB) has become so rare among healthcare workers that it is not worth the time and expense to do routine testing. Doctors File Lawsuits Against Hospital for Failure to Provide Fluoroscopic Radiation Safety
In what may be the first lawsuits of their kind, 3 surgeons have filed lawsuits alleging a hospital’s radiation safety practices were inadequate and that radiation exposure caused their cancers. The first of the lawsuits will take place early in 2020. Read more…

A study done by psychologists at Marist College has concluded that the use of swear words is a sign of a better vocabulary.  Being a person that was taught how to swear when I first went to clinical assignments, I am highly interested in this subject.

Non-compete Agreements and Doc-Napping
A geographic pos-employment restrictive covenant is often called a “noncompete clause” in a contract stating you are unable to work within a specified number of miles for a specified number of years should you resign or be terminated by your employer. AHEC welcomes visitors from afar, 5823 miles away to be more specific!

Last week AHEC hosted 2 students from the city of Pago Pago on the American Samoa Island.  These 2 Radiologic technologists attended our Abdomen 3 day class.  Both women are previous students of AHEC’s Ultrasound and came back to learn new skills. Read more…
