About the GROW! Mammography Fellowship
The GROW! The Mammography Fellowship is specifically designed to support and uplift radiologic technologists committed to advancing in the field of radiologic sciences. By investing in their education and professional development, we aim to improve the quality of care in our communities.
This Fellowship program focuses on cross-training radiologic technologists into mammographers, ensuring they are MQSA-qualified by the end of the initial training program.

As a GROW! Mammography Scholar, you are entitled to receive the following benefits
- 40-Hour Initial Training: Intensive training designed to equip you with essential mammography skills.
- Clinical Site Provided: Gain practical experience at a designated clinical site.
- Travel and Meals Included: Enjoy complimentary round-trip airfare, hotel accommodation, and a daily meal stipend.
Application Criteria
To apply for the GROW! Mammography Fellowship, participants must meet the following criteria and submit the required documents:
- Original Essay: Write an essay explaining how the Fellowship will impact you and your community.
- Professional Reference: Provide a letter of professional reference.
- Experience and Education: A total of two (2) applicants will be chosen based on specific criteria:
- Applicant #1: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical imaging profession.
- Applicant #2: Must be a new graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program.
Both applicants must meet the FDA MQSA guidelines and licensure requirements in their state of practice. Additionally, participants must agree to complete AHEC’s 40-hour initial training program.
While AHEC can provide a clinical site for the initial 25 supervised exams, candidates can coordinate these exams through their current employer with a letter of participation.

How to Apply
Applying for the GROW! Mammography Fellowship is straightforward. Prepare your original essay and letter of professional reference, and ensure you meet the experience and educational criteria. Submit your application between July 1st and August 18th, 2024.
